Tips for selling items on BitsAndBridles.com

- One critical selling tip is creating informative titles or "Captions." Make them INTERESTING and DESCRIPTIVE! As you can see they all end up representing new ads on this newsletter. Another reason is that when people search for items and browse through categories (dressage saddles, bridles, horse boots), they depend on the captions to tell them something about the ad. Having a
descriptive title will attract them to your ad, and so captions are very important. A caption that says, "tack for sale" is not attractive or informative. Every ad on the site is tack for sale. No one can tell what you have and it will not come up when searched for. Also an ad titled "Close Contact" is repetitive and uninformative when it is already listed under the "jumping saddles" section. Tell the size,
brand, color, and more interesting qualities. Naming a wanted ad "wanted" is also equally ambiguous. Most people will not take the time to click on your ad and find out what you really want or are really selling. If any of your ads have the above problems please go fix them and you will notice a big difference in the amount of responses that they receive!
- Check your items after they are posted.
Check spelling, if your email is correct, and the general appearance of your add. To
update an ad, click the links that say "Modify/Renew ..."
- Include images!!!! Pictures will
heighten the probability of your item selling astronomically! Click here to go to

- Include flaws or
vices. It is better to be honest. Also buyers will not wonder and ask you
questions if there are flaws or vices.
- What kind of home do you want your tack or horse to have?
Describe your item in terms of who would want it.
- Check the wanted items regularly to see if
someone if looking for your listing. Check Hot Items
to list those sellable items.
- Need an email? Go to Hotmail or most search engines have free email: Yahoo, Excite, Snap.
- AOL users: make sure you can accept emails
from users that you do not know. When you setup blocks on email for children it
blocks people from contacting you about your ad. One way to know if you have such a
block setup is that you did not receive confirmation of your registration or ads you have
placed on BitsAndBridles.com.
- Include all you can in your descriptions.
It will attract more attention Serious inquiries will want to know this information
any way. Plan ahead for their questions and put that info in your description.
- Selling and Shipping terms. By specifying how much shipping will be and what types of payments, attract more sales because they know the absolute cost. It will also make a transaction
easier.
- Transactions. Stay in touch when you
receive the payment and send the item. It may make or break a future sale.
